1. In a paragraph or two compare (similarities) and contrast (differences) Night and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.
In Night, it was more difficult to get a visual picture of the locations and personalities of the characters. However, in The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, this was very easy to find. It was easy to visualize the characters' thoughts and actions, and was much easier to process why he/she did something. In Night and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, we got to see different views on the Holocaust. In the Boy in the Striped Pajamas, viewers got to see more of the Germans' side of the Holocaust. In Night, we got to see more of the victims' side of the story. I thought it was fascinating to see both sides. 2. Choose 1 character from Night or one character from Boy in the Striped Pajamas to analyze. Make note (explain) of their physical appearance, character traits, feelings, demeanor, thoughts, etc. I'll be analyzing Bruno's father from the Boy in the Striped Pajamas, because I feel like he learned a bit of a lesson at the end. I really don't think Bruno's father liked what he was doing for a job, based on some of the hesitation we saw in the movie. It's clear that his wife doesn't approve, and I happen to think he's torn between loyalty to Germany and loyalty to his family. 3. How have your thoughts or understandings of the Holocaust changed since completing this unit (background research, Night, Boy in the Striped Pajamas? I didn't really know a whole lot about the Holocause before this except that "Germans wanted to exterminate the Jewish population." I didn't know why, I didn't really know what the Jewish people were forced into. I felt more informed after both the movie, the research, and the book. 4. Which did you like better and why (book or movie)? I personally preferred the movie, all because it was really easy to visualize and imagine (because it was in picture, duh). I also felt like The Boy In The Striped Pajamas was more impactful. 5. Any final thoughts or questions you have regarding either the book, movie, or Holocaust in general? I have no final thoughts or questions. Everything I've wanted to say is above. :) My spring break was decent. I went to Chicago, IL and wished I had stayed home the whole time. I saw the art teacher at Shedd Aquarium which was pretty awkward and cool at the same time. I got a stuffed hammerhead shark.
When I came home I instantly took a nap. My mom didn't like that and I had to do stuff right afterwards. It was a tragedy. I'm still recovering. #prayforapril I'm still on spring break. Leave me alone. That means you, Rylie. Saying "April" once in the morning shows that you acknowledge me, and believe me, I acknowledge you as well. Saying it twice just makes me question your intelligence. Saying it thrice just irritates me to no bounds. Oh boy, would I make the United States explode. But whatever. I would probably focus on restoring the relationships with the other people in the world. This is an obvious one because we need to keep a positive relationship with the other people that have the ability to go to war with us. War = not good.
I would focus on the whole ISIS problem second. This would be first priority if they ended up doing something to us, but other than that, it would be my second priority. Third priority would be immigration. I'm currently not worried about the state of immagrition as much as I am with relationships with the other countries or ISIS, but I still believe it's an important topic to understand and regulate more. But that's what I believe is the most important. So, then again, I probably don't know what I'm doing or saying. On winter break I slept like a vampire; I was almost completely nocturnal until SCHOOL made me stop being nocturnal. It was a sad day. On another note, I celebrated my birthday. I got a lot of books which I'm happy about. My cats destroyed our Christmas tree. I think they thought it was for them. But it really wasn't. My cats look something like this: Top: Kiara representation (yes he is fat) Middle: Peanut representation (yes he is a cat) Bottom: Nala representation (yes she is a ninja) ya my cats are very cute here's a picture of our tree after the cats ruined it whoops
OH BOI, MY DUDES.
I would get rid of the "being on time" rule. It's stupid, because I want to sleep. Hello, open your eyes world, cause sleep is more important than school. Whatever that is. It seems kinda obvious that I would do something like this, and this blog post is really short, but it's literally all I would change. Just remove the rule all together. Kill it. Terminate it. I mean, I would also get rid of the "math is required" rule. That one sucks too. I am thankful for the common cold. Not only does it make me feel just WONDERFUL, it keeps me in bed when I could be doing important things. It always shows up when I don't want it, which is just glorious. Not only that, but it can be spread! To other people! Isn't that just great?
It's really kind, for giving itself to me and that's why I really am thankful for such a thing in this beautiful world full of craziness we live in. It's just... great. This title is very creative. How, you might ask? Because it has the word creative in it! And the magnificent word "title". Really, this whole blog is very creative (even though it's just full of things I type/say so I don't get in trouble and get a good grade). You should check out the gift shop! Support the cause. Because, you know. I need to turn into a turtle sometime. Anyway, back to how creative this title is. It's the most creative title ever seen. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone? More like Trump's Supporters and the 19th Amendment. (Okay, I'm sorry about that one. I just find it hilarious that people think we should get rid of an amendment. Sorry if you get salty over a few words lol)
But yes, this title is colorful, beautiful, spectacular, creative, and majestic. It's amazing how a creative title can be made with just two words. im done with everything pls
